Dear Community,

Sent on behalf of Diane McAveety:

Below is a link to Father Aloysius Deeney's beautiful Carmelite spiritual teachings on You Tube.  I've been listening to these over the past few months, and recognized the beautiful treasure God had entrusted to him for the glory of God.

May our Blessed Lord continue to make abundantly fruitful these beautiful messages of truth and love for the sanctification of Holy Mother Church, all her children, and thus the world.

In Christ the King,
Diane

Rev Steven Payne.JPG

A virtual lecture was held on Dec. 14th by Fr. Steven Payne, OCD, entitled, "The Dark Night of the Soul: Yesterday and Today" from 3:30-4:30 EST.

UPDATE:  JANUARY 16, 2022

Following the initial post of a December 14th talk by Father Steven Payne,  OCD on our community website and…..subsequent discovery by Mark Schilling of the online hyperlink to its recording…. Our community now has access to the recording.

While it is not required, it might be a useful reference you might return to time and again, if you want to dive deeper into “The Dark Night of the Soul”. Father Payne is an awesome communicator. (He has two doctorates.)

Here is the link to a college-level one-hour lecture by Fr. Payne, OCD on The Dark Night. Father Payne was our retreat master at least once in the past several years. )
